Therapeutic Approaches
I offer an approach that is highly individualized and is paced and tailored according to your comfort level and needs. I frequently integrate methods from several modalities to create an effective and personalized approach. The following are some of the modalities I use most often:
Holistic Therapy
Holistic psychotherapy is an integrative approach to therapy that seeks to address an individual as a "whole person" rather than just focusing on specific mental health symptoms. The core principle is that your well-being is determined by the interconnectedness and balance of your mind, body, spirit, and environment. Holistic psychotherapy uses a broader set of techniques to encourage healing and balance across all personal domains.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy is a body-centered approach that focuses on the connection between the mind and the body to promote healing from trauma and stress. The core principle is that emotional and psychological issues, especially those stemming from trauma, are stored in the body. This approach helps to regulate the nervous system and restore a sense of safety and calm.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT is a modified form of CBT specifically developed to help people regulate intense emotions and manage self-destructive behaviors. It's built on a balance of two concepts: acceptance and change. Clients learn skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
We’re a good fit if you…
struggle with feeling connected and secure in your relationships
Want to have healthy friendships, romantic and family relationships but are not sure “how”
Want to begin or continue your trauma recovery at a deep, emotional and body-based level
Feel swept up in big emotions and wish you had more control
Want therapy that is reflective, compassionate, and grounded
Have general or social anxiety and live with intrusive thoughts, indecisiveness, or feeling like you are in “fight or flight” mode
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT is a highly effective, evidence-based psychotherapy focused on creating secure, lasting emotional bonds in relationships. It works by identifying and changing the negative interaction cycles that lead to distress. By uncovering the deeper, vulnerable emotions rooted in our fundamental need for attachment, EFT helps people in relationships express their needs safely and respond to each other with love and understanding, ultimately restructuring the relationship into a secure base.
